Connection Exercise Done During Coaching Sessions-My Insights
In Coaching, every session whether it is an initial Discovery Session or follow up sessions, both the Coach and the client go through an initial connection process. It involves setting intentions for the session and commitment to be present. Sometimes intentions for the outcome of the session are also set. Initially as a client I never realized the value. But with experience I realized Connection is huge.
The dictionary definition of connection is: 1. the state of being related to someone or something else: 2. on the subject of something: 3. the act of joining or being joined to something else. While I can't cover different methodology for doing Connection exercise used by different Coaches at this time, I can share my Insights.
Here are my insights on Connection:
Connection exercise makes me grounded and stay comfortable within my body
I am conscious of what I am thinking while I am in the Coaching session
I feel good about myself and the Coach trusting that outcome for both would benefit each other and enrich our relationship. I am aware of any sensation in my body.
I could overcome any resistance to sharing my insights or action step that my Coach will suggest.
I could visualize myself going beyond barriers and see possibilities.
I could step out of the problem, dissociate and think through different solutions.
I invite you to share your insights on Connection Process done during Coaching sessions.
